How do you take care of an Angel's Trumpet plant in the winter?

If you live in an area that goes below 32 degrees in the winter,it needs to be brought in and winterized-covered so it gets NO light whatsoever, put in a dark cool place(not freezing though)like a basement and take it back out in the spring. If you don't live in a cold area, the advice the others gave was great!

How do you take care of an Angel's Trumpet plant in the winter?
I'm from South Carolina. I know that some people here just cut them back %26amp; they come back every year. You can take the stems that you cut %26amp; place them in water to root them %26amp; plant them in the spring.
Reply:I'm in zone 7 {Georgia}, we cut our back to the ground cover with a pot or mulch, bring in the branch's you cut off and put them in a container of water and let them root over the winter. If your Trumpet is in a container, just bring it in and place it in a sunny window, if the air is dry in your home, keep the plant misted, when it needs water just put it in the shower and let it stay until no water is coming through the bottom holes. I have about 8 growing in the garden now and the temp has already hit freezing and we have had several mornings of frost and the angels are still green and blooming, they are alot stronger than people think. There is no need to put this plant in a dark room and hide it for the winter, wrong advise for this plant!!!!!! Yes it is a tropical, but most house plants you purchase are TROPICALS. As long as you keep your tropical house plants above 50 degrees they will live, inside or outside.
Reply:Keep above 32 °F (0°C)

If outside try covering with shade type cloth or burlap to keep frost off
Reply:Depends on what zone you live in. I am in Zone 9, which is pretty tropical. I left mine in the ground and they did fine for a couple of years. As a matter of fact, my mom is allergic to the blooms so a friend dug mine up and took it. There must have been a piece of root left, b/c it is back and about 7 ft tall now. It is really easy to root them from pieces, so if there is a danger of a freeze, take a cutting and cover the plant w/ an old sheet after watering the plant good.
