Do you have to bring it in out of the cold if it is planted in a flower bed? Is there anything else you can do for it besides dig it up when it has been there all summer? Will digging it up after all that time not kill it?

yes the angel's trumpet plant has to be brought indoors out of the cold.place it in a window with lots of sun.
